
Jazmine, a Philadelphia native is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised there. Pam her mother is a former backing singer who was a part of Philadelphia International Records. In the age of five, her father was appointed to be one of the cities' Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. She and her family moved later into the mansion's historical building. The 2005 graduate of Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was a vocal music major. Sullivan began her singing career as a contralto children's choir, then just a few years later, in the adult group. Sullivan did not get exposed to the world of secular music for the first time. "I began singing in solos in the church, and someone suggested I sign up to record a gospel song when I was eleven. But I wasn't prepared to do that," she says. "Then McDonald's offered a competition for children in major cities. Then I had the opportunity to perform the Grace of God on Showtime Apollo. The audience was extremely supportive." The singer performed along with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday celebration at 13. Sullivan was initially signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. The label initially signed Sullivan to Jive Records around the age of 15. She recorded an entire album. The album did not see release. Sullivan was eventually removed from the label. Her work had been in good relations and Missy Elliott. Elliott produced numerous tracks for her and tracks, such as "Backstabbers" the track that was produced by Timbaland.
