The early achievements of Maureen FitzSimons in the arts of performing, and which are now known by the name of Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier to the "child prodigy" category. For a child with Irish heritage surrounded by gifted parents and family members, they had innate talents. Maureen moved into this loving home on the 17th of August 20, in Ranelagh. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was a contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based business and owned a share of "The Shamrock Rovers" an eminent Irish soccer squad. Maureen was the third of six FitzSimons children. Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen was a fan of rough and athletic games as a child and was a pro in athletics. The passion for sports was matched by the natural ability to perform. This was apparent that she was the winner of every Feis for drama and theater that Ireland had to offer. At age 14she was admitted into the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
