Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole child from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was the home of her mother and also mother to her children. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. At a young age, McCormick was a singer and dance, and she would frequently put on puppet shows for kids in the community. When McCormick was six years old, she won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency approached her to ask her if she would like to enter the show business. McCormick's first big job was during 1964, which was when she appeared in a commercial on TV for Mattels new Baby Pattaburp doll. Later that year she did another commercial with the company's Chatty Cathy doll and was later cast in the show The Wind It up and It breaks on stage at La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, which was chosen out of 1200 auditioning children to play the older of three two-headed daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show lasted for five years. McCormick wrote in her book from 2008 Heres the Story : Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice she almost losing her virginity in the fifth season in the presence of Barry Williams, her co-star and on-screen brother.
